My name is Daisy Carolina. I am 26 years old. Born, raised, and currently live in Houston, TX. I have a 11 month old corgi named Charlie. We named her after Charlie Day from Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Musings of an engaged, pre-school teacher. I love to watch movies, shows, listen to music, bake, cook, obsessed with lady bugs, batman, nail polish, converse, and candy. Feel free to follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, and Instagram.
My name is Jesus de Leon I have a middle name but I wouldn't like for you to know that. I am happy most of the day but most times I am on auto pilot trying to make it to the evening. I love It's Always Sunny, I like to fall asleep to it. I walked home one day when I was a kid and a bunch of dogs attacked me and a bunch of drunks just stared and laughed. That's pretty much my life in a nutshell one day you're getting mauled by dogs and the next you're loving them. Hay-O!
We took Charlie and Frankie to get their check ups and I also had a concern about Frankie. I noticed he was losing hair on his paws. I thought maybe he was licking himself too much so I wanted to know what it was exactly. The vet took a look at him and said “it might be demodex” I was like “whaat? is that” so he said it’s very common in puppies and the only way to know for sure is to get a skin scrape sampling. So they took him to the back and five minutes later they came back with a positive. We even got to look at the little gross bug under the microscope. It was kind of cool but gross haha.
So the vet told us there is the common oral treatment that takes about six weeks or so or we could try an “off label” I believe he said (don’t quote me on that) treatment which would be Bravecto. Bravecto treats fleas and ticks and it seems to be a potential new treatment of Demodicosis in dogs. We’re supposed to go back in two weeks so I’m hoping that it helps!
I was pretty scared because when I think of mange I picture a hairless dog so I was worried. Now that I’ve informed myself I feel much better and I’m hoping for the best.
Anyway here are some updated picture of them from Christmas, New Years, the one time Houston got canceled cause it froze lol, and just some pictures.
We are happy to announce that Charlie is now an affiliate for Natural Dog Company. We already have a travel paw soother stick. We just ordered a travel set as well as a bully stick. We can’t wait to try everything out!!
We’re back now. Denver was awesome. Anyway we will be basically reviewing our trip.
We flew with Spirit. We heard lots of reviews both good and bad about the airline and when we planned our trip we were just like what the heck?
Our flight was scheduled for 9:45 A.M and we actually left our home pretty early just to be sure we’d get there on time and find a place to leave our car. So we chose EcoPark based on their daily rate of $5.54 a day. Anyway, so we checked in the day before at home and printed our boarding passes which otherwise would have been $10 per person. We had to check-in with a person because we were flying with our dog. It ended up being $110 which wasn’t too bad. We were mostly worried that our dog carrier wouldn’t be approved because it didn’t meet their height requirements. Our Sherpa was 2 in. taller than their height requirement which is 9 in. The person we checked in with just looked at our dog and bag and was like “Okay. It’ll be $110.” We considered that a win haha. It turned out that our flight was delayed so we ate some breakfast and watched some shows on our phones.
We boarded around 11:30 and landed at 1-ish. We were so ready to start our vacation we took the taxi against peoples suggestions. we ended up paying $80 just from the airport to the rental car place. We had planned on taking Uber but didn’t want to wait. Well no we know better. So we got our car and hit up the fist dispensary.
The Clinic on Colfax was our first stop. We were asked to show our I.D’s. I for one was super nervous but my husband was all happy and excited. There was a home-y vibe to it. Nice and cozy. After a short wait we went upstairs into a room where we were asked what we wanted. The guy was really helpful with helping my husband. All in all we left happy customers. They had all types of marijuana, edibles, rolled joints, papers, etc.
Afterwards we checked into our hotel and hung out the rest of the day. We were tired!
Saturday morning we woke up early had some breakfast and headed to the Denver Art Museum. Coincidentally it’s free the first Saturday of the month. So we got free admission. It took us half a day to go through all 6 floors of the museum. It has 7 but it was closed off. They had different types of art from all over the world.
GroundSwell was our second stop. Same as before they checked out I.D’s as well once we were in. We were walked into another room and then asked what kind of things were we looking for and if we were looking for medical or recreational. They had all types of marijuana, edibles, rolled joints, papers, etc. My husband got what he wanted as for me I was looking for souvenirs so I picked up a sticker. I kinda wish now I got one at the first dispensary.
I want to say the weather was a nice 30-40 degrees. So I of course chose to go to Little Man Ice Cream. We were glad the cold weather didn’t keep people away. I ordered Mexican chocolate and my husband got blackberry pineapple.
L’Eagle was the last dispensary we went to. Same as the previous 2 they asked for our I.D’s and waited for about 5 minutes. Once we went in the guy helping us was very informative. I looked for anything I could bring back so I got a magnet lol. Outside their building they do have a spot to tie your dog as well as a water bowl. That way you don’t have to leave your dog in your vehicle.
We did take a trip out to the Garden Of The Gods. It was a nice crisp sunny morning they even let our dog go into the visitor center to look around. That place is so beautiful I had never seen anything like it. There was a bit of snow that was melting away.
Daisy: Overall Denver was an awesome experience. I want to say it’s a very dog friendly city which was great because we take our dog everywhere with us. Everyone we met was friendly, informative, and helpful. I can’t wait till we can go back!
Jesus: I thought it was awesome I had a great time. Aside from the cab driver being a shark and not helpful everything was fine. I felt like we saw 10% of it but I enjoyed it. The weather and people were awesome I can’t wait to go again and visit the mountains.
Oh goodness it has a little over two years since I have posted anything. So much has changed from heartache to happiness. Well let us just dive right on in. It might be a super long post so this may or may not be for you. haha
I was re-reading my last post and I saw a picture of Daenery’s and I completely broke down.
Two years ago early November we had just moved into our first apartment my husband was working out-of-town and I would be at home making sure everything was getting paid as well as making the place feel like home. At the same time my dear mother-in-law got really sick. She had been battling with cancer for years now. So one of the days we were planning on spending the night I felt like maybe leaving our puppy
alone overnight wasn’t okay so we took her to my moms. I remember very specifically telling everyone not to let her go outside by herself she was only 5 months old and small so she could get out and run into the street and I didn’t want anything to happen to her. Before leaving I once again asked them to not let her go outside and if she needed to go pee or poop to have her on her leash. So we left and an hour later we got a phone call. An HOUR later. Somehow she ran out and nobody noticed and she got hit by a car. She was the first dog I ever owned she was my baby. To some it may sound silly but I was angry at everyone that house especially my mom because when we got there she was just like “oh I’ll get you another one.” We buried her and left. I kept her collar and tag to remind me of
her. Sometimes I see pictures of her and I feel sad because she never got to grow up.
Two days later my mother in law passed away in her sleep. My honey bunnies woke me up at 1 in the morning to tell me she had passed on. The night before I had dreamt of her we were sitting in her room talking about who knows what. I distinctly remember the floor was bright with light and the sun shone through the windows super bright. I guess she was telling me goodbye. That Thanksgiving and the holidays that followed have not been the same without her. I only knew her for two years but she was one of the sweetest persons I had ever met. She made me feel like I was part of the family even before we got engaged. She was nice to everyone and she loved God above all. My father in law and her were such a happy couple I had never seen two people so in love and who had been together for so long so it gave me hope.
We then temporarily moved in with my father in law. I actually started working at a preschool. It’s not like a regular pre-school it’s a cool preschool lol Mean Girls joke. Anyway I started teaching Pre-K literacy and writing. We later moved back into our apartment. My now husband works at a different job the pay is less but I am honestly happier we don’t have to worry about things like when we had money galore. We technically have not gotten married yet but I got tired of saying oh fiance lol so I just now call him my husband. I do hope one day we get married. I want a nice small wedding.
I also switched positions I now teach science and art. Nice and messy. Maybe I’ll post some of our activities on here!
This past June he got me my dream dog. A beautiful Pembroke Corgi. She is a black-headed tri-colored corgi. She will be 8 months on the 19th of December. We named her after Charlie Day’s character from Always Sunny in Philadelphia. She is a ball of energy everything I have ever read about Corgi’s is true lol. Here she is on my birthday trip to San Antonio he surprised me with.
Sorry for the long post I had not posted in a while and I felt like writing.
I received my Surfs Up VoxBox from Influenster a couple of weeks ago and I finally got around to trying out the Fire Red by Sinful nail polish. I have about eight other colors except a red one! haha. I have to say that two coats was just good enough. I like it! Please excuse my cuticles. I am extremely happy with the SinfulColors line they are also very inexpensive…only $1.99. Once I try out all of the things I will be sure to give a full review on my voxbox and have more information on Influenster.
Yesterday morning after I left Daenerys eating I came to my room to watch some TV. I then heard my mom laughing and playing with her, a couple minutes later Daenerys came into the room and sat next to me and looked ashamed lmao. It was the cutest thing ever. I asked my mom if she knew how it happened but she said no. I took a picture of her before taking the gift bow off.
We went to go get Deuce, Jolynn’s one year old Pitbull who stays at her parents because he has a nice big yard to run around in, and because my mother does not like big dogs. I have to say he is the sweetest big dog I have ever met. I’m scared of big dogs but for some reason he doesn’t scare me. I was a bit iffy as to how Daenerys was going to react to him. I let her go up to him and she immediately ran the other way, she did this for 10 minutes till she finally got the courage to sniff him. She barkes at him for no reason and then starts sniffing him again the picture above is Deuce’s reaction to everything she does. lol
Well, It’s barely Wednesday (Hump Day) so far this week has been pretty good. I think tonight I’ll make breaded fish…with green beans…and mashed potatos..and oh maybe rice?? Man, I’m hungry now! Sorry for the long post.
I have been wanting to have a blog for a while now, well actually I already have a Tumblr, but that mostly consists of funnies, GIFs, and other nonsense. I guess what I mean is that I want something that is more personal, somewhere I can write about anything. What I’m hoping to do with this blog is write about my daily adventures, my thoughts, reviews on different things, my life in general. I ramble on sometimes and my train of thought is NOT in a chronological order if that makes any kind of sense haha. I live life and I love the life I live. With that being said…written?…typed? Anywho, I hope you enjoy my posts and let us see how this goes.
